How to pay with USSD

Dial bank code eg *326# *402# (please note that the code varies from country to country)
Select ‘Pay Merchant’ eg option 6
Select account to be debited and preferred method of payment: Masterpass, Visa or mCash (available only in Nigeria)
Enter Merchant Terminal ID
Enter Amount
Enter PIN
Click ‘OK’ to validate the transaction
You’ll then receive a confirmation message

For merchants

Make sure you are first registered on the Ecobank Mobile app
Go to Facebook Messenger on your phone or PC and search for ‘EcobankPay with Rafiki’
Engage a conversation with Rafiki by clicking “send message”
Click ‘Get started’
Read the Terms & Conditions and the Data privacy Policy and click ‘Accept’
Select your preferred language
Enter the mobile number you use for mobile banking, starting with the country code
You will receive a One Time Password on your registered mobile pone number which you must enter before you complete onboarding
Enter your mobile banking pin
Select ‘Get EcobankPay QR’
If you do not have Facebook Messenger app, log into Facebook, click the Chat Area at the bottom right corner of the screen, search for ‘EcobankPay with Rafiki’, click ‘Get started’ and then follow the same steps as above.
